Banished! A Viking Courtroom Drama In P7!! ⚖️

2nd Mar 2026

Our P7 pupils took part in a fantastic drama lesson, bringing history to life by reenacting a Viking “Thing” — a traditional courtroom assembly. The children fully immersed themselves in their roles as they debated whether Ragnar’s sheep had been stolen by Astrid. The session featured a law speaker who guided proceedings, witnesses who presented evidence, a jury of free people who carefully considered the case, and both accuser and defendant passionately defending their positions. After hearing all sides of the argument, the jury reached their verdict — declaring Astrid guilty and banishing her back to Scandinavia! This engaging experience helped pupils develop their understanding of Viking society while building confidence, teamwork, and critical thinking skills in a lively and memorable way.
