Anti-Bullying Workshop for P6/7

23rd Apr 2026

As part of our ongoing commitment to promoting a safe, respectful, and inclusive school environment, pupils in P6/7 participated in a follow-up session linked to our recent NSPCC assembly and wider anti-bullying work.

Mrs Breen worked with the girls, while Mr Denvir facilitated a parallel session with the boys, ensuring a supportive and comfortable space for open and honest discussion. Pupils engaged thoughtfully and responded very positively throughout the sessions.

During discussions and activities, children explored the message that every child is valued, special, and unique, and that everyone has the right to feel happy and safe in school. They examined what bullying and bullying-type behaviours can look like, recognising that even subtle actions—such as whispering, excluding others or talking behind someone’s back, name-calling, or unkind remarks—can be deeply hurtful and have a lasting impact.

Pupils were encouraged to understand that staying silent is not a safe option and that speaking out and seeking support from trusted adults helps protect everyone. They reflected on the unseen consequences of hurtful behaviour, considering how worries can follow someone home and affect confidence, wellbeing, and feelings about coming to school.

The sessions reinforced our clear whole-school message that bullying behaviours will not be tolerated. Pupils were reminded that each individual is responsible for their own actions and the part they play in creating a positive, kind, and inclusive school community. Children left the sessions with a strong understanding of the importance of kindness, inclusion, and the courage to speak up, knowing they are never alone and that support is always available.
