Angle Challenge

6th May 2021

P7 Angle Challenge

P7 have been revising angles and learning how to draw and measure them accurately using a protractor.

Today they were set an angle challenge.

Everybody had the same 6 angles to estimate the degrees of each.

The children agreed as a class that a good target for each group would be to be no more than 420 degrees out from the estimates and for the class in total 1500 degrees.

They were put into random groups to accurately measure the angles and work out how far out their estimates were.

The children learned quite a bit about estimates and discovered using knowledge of angles by putting in lines to represent 90 and 180 degrees helps give more accurate estimates.

The class in total were 7456 degrees out from their estimates !

Check out each groups results in the photographs.
