Accelerated Reader

10th Feb 2023

Since the beginning of this school year, Mr Denvir, Literacy Co-ordinator, has reported that our P4/5/6/7 pupils have read a total of 13,101,127 words, they have attempted 1821 quizzes and passed 1705 with a comprehension understanding of 87%. This comprehension understanding value is above our whole school target of 85% and highlights the important progress all of our pupils continue to make with their reading since the start of this school year.

At our last school Assembly we were delighted to present a double Millionaire Certificate to Niamh (P6) who has now read over 2 million words since September. We also recognised that there are many other pupils close to achieving their millionaire status and we look forward to presenting them with their certificates very soon.

We encourage all of our pupils to continue their great efforts with reading in the months ahead and we will continue to report on their progress. Remember some of your home books may be on the accelerated reader programme and you can check this at school. So, if you are reading at home and you want to attempt a quiz on that particular book, please bring the book along to school and we will check it for you.
