As part of their WAU programme P4 have been taking part in ‘The Wildlife Trust #30 Days Wild Challenge’. Each day in June, the boys and girls have been tasked to search for, find, research or experience the wildlife and surroundings of their local area. So far they have found lots of wild plants and creatures. They have been reading lots of fact books about different habitats. They have investigated our rewilding areas, hedgerows, bug hotel, fruit orchard and even planted wildflower seeds to attract more beautiful butterflies and bees. They have been thinking about conservation and sustainability. We hope to continue with this quest in the coming days. The Wildlife Trust have provided lots of ideas on how everyone can become involved in the challenge at home too. We hope you all enjoy it as Portaferry and the nearby areas have so much to offer in terms of location, climate, flora and fauna!
