Today we had two special visitors Tjibbe and Wiebe, who came to tell us all about Christmas traditions in Holland and Finland. This links with our current topic in P6/7 “Christmas around the world”.
We learned that in Holland, children look forward to Sinterklaas, who arrives by boat from Spain and leaves presents in their shoes on the 5th December.
In Finland, Christmas is a magical time too — families visit Santa’s home in Lapland, enjoy snowy days, and share warm meals together.
It was so interesting to hear how people in different countries celebrate this special season!
