Primary 4

Welcome to our P4 class page! Another busy year ahead for all our P4 boys and girls with a broad and balanced curriculum, which with lots of parental support will meet the needs and potential of all our little learners. As the children move through Key Stage One, we promote daily reading and mental Maths at home and in school. We have our wonderful ‘New Wave’ homelink activities and our online learning platform that is Mathletics to keep everyone on track. We have a vast array of tips and suggestions in our P4 ‘Home Learning’ and ‘Links’ areas within the website too. Most of all we continue to read! As always in P4, we have our reading scheme favourites, Accelerated Reader program and lots of library selections. Everything from the adventures of Horrid Henry, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, The Rainbow Fairies and of course we love to delve into the classics and popular authors like Roald Dahl as well as the more contemporary ones too! We enjoy fact books along the way as all helps develop vocabulary and general knowledge. As for Numeracy in P4, it's a case of perfecting those four processes of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Don't forget we have our parent booklet on 'Helping your child with Mental Maths' which is also on the website for each year group. In P4 we really enjoy 'Active Learning' so get up, get moving, get skipping, dancing and grooving! We also love our 'Daily Mile', lots of outdoor learning, STEM activities and relaxing with art and music. Most of all we look forward to celebrating our First Holy Communion In Term 3 and we encourage you all to keep up with all ‘Grow In Love’ prayers and activities throughout the year.
