Well Being Wednesday - 9th June 2021

9th Jun 2021

As we enter the last month of this particular academic year, our theme for Well Being Wednesday is 'Celebrating Success.' Each week we will pick a particular area of school life and celebrate the different successes we have experienced this year.

In so many ways this year has been very different and challenging with changes to our 'normal' schooling routine and 'class bubbles' have meant that it has been difficult to come together as a whole school to celebrate together. We really miss our weekly Assemblies when we came together as a whole school to celebrate our weekly Pupils of the Week, recognising the many successes our pupils experience outside of school through their involvement in sport, dance, music, horse-riding etc, and the other curricular and sporting successes our pupils achieve within school. Over the last few weeks, when the weather has allowed us, we have been getting together outside within our class bubbles to begin these Assembly's again with a separate P1/2/3 and P4/5/6/7 outdoor Assembly. It has been lovely to recognise pupils successes again and hopefully we will get a chance to host a whole school outdoor Assembly, if the weather allows, before the end of June.

This week, however, we want to celebrate the pupils of our school. Despite the fact that we are all within our own class bubbles and the fact that school was closed for much of the second term of this year, we want to recognise and celebrate our pupils and how they have all successfully returned to school. Throughout the year, and in particular since school returned in March of this year, there has been some great learning and interaction going on within each class. The resilience and dedication shown by our pupils has been a joy to behold and we, as a school staff are ever so thankful for the wonderful school community we have at St Mary's Primary School and Nursery Unit.
