Primary Four had a lovely visit to Portaferry Library this morning. The librarians introduced the boys and girls to lots of exciting characters from popular fictional stories. They also found out lots of real information in the fact book section. They listened to stories and talked about their favourite books from home and school. Some of the boys and girls were able to check out books today using their own library cards and some were given forms to fill in should they wish to join the library. Portaferry Library contains lots of books which are on our Accelerated Reader programme and will soon be promoting their ‘Summer Reading Challenge’. It also runs lots of clubs for all ages of children and adults. The P4 children certainly liked the idea of their ‘Lego Club’ and their ‘Junior Reading Club’. Everyone enjoyed their visit and the librarians look forward to seeing many P4 children come through the doors in June and over the summer months.
