Extreme Reading Challenge Part 2

4th Mar 2021

A few more people have been in touch this afternoon sending me their pictures for World Book Day. It seems that Harry Potter books are still very popular. Cian (P4) really enjoys reading Harry Potter and he has just finished reading The Chamber of secrets. Aoibhinn (P3) also loves Harry Potter but her favourite character is Luna Lovegood and she enjoyed dressing up as Luna. Belle (P2) dressed up as Hermonie today and although she has not read Harry Potter yet she has watched the movies but she decided that today was the perfect time to start a new book.

Hailey (P3) was out and about today and when she walked past our school she put a magic special spell to help get our school ready for welcoming back our P1,2,3 pupils on Monday morning.

Lily May (P6) also got in touch to say that she loves reading outside and Lara’s (P1) favourite book is Sleeping Beauty and she really got into character as she got herself ready to read this book. Aine (P5) loves mixing her horse riding with reading and she tells me the horse even knows the difference between horse riding time and reading time!

The Mullan were very busy this World Book Day. Gwen (P1) wanted to dress up as characters from some of her favourite books and stories. She had tea with a tiger, did some experiments as a scientist, read words in a web and rescued an ungrateful Prince from a dragon whilst only wearing a paper bag. Matthew (P5) took on a zombie in the yard armed only with a hockey stick after reading the last kids on earth in an unusual place.

Lucie (P7) and Ronan (P4) also got in touch to say how much they love reading. James (P5) got doing some reading at the beach today and Aoibhe (P6) was reading in the wheelbarrow and when a shower of rain came she went to continue reading in the summerhouse.

Thank you to everyone who sent in their pictures today.
