Digital Art in P1

15th Sep 2022

Primary 1 are magnificent artists who love to draw and paint. Mrs Breen asked us what colour we would paint the sky, sun and grass. Everyone thought they would use the colours blue, yellow and green, but when we watched a story called "The artist who painted a blue horse" we discovered that artists can paint things any colour they want! How cool!

We watched a song about 3 special colours - red, blue and yellow. They are called primary colours. We were divided into colour groups and we went on a colour hunt around our school with the Ipads to try and find things that were red, blue or yellow. Mrs Breen showed us where the camera icon was and how to take a good picture. When we came back to class, Maol's pictures of yellow things were projected onto our interactive whiteboard.

Next we got big sheets of paper with red, blue and yellow paint blobs on them. We used our fingertips to mix the colours together. We learned that red and yellow make orange, blue and yellow make green, and red and blue make purple! Have a look at all the pictures of our digital art lesson...
