Celebrating Mathematics & Numeracy at St. Maryโ€™s ๐ŸŒŸ

2nd Dec 2025

From Nursery to P1, P2, P3, P4, P5, P6, P7, The Oak and The Ash classes, it is evident that our pupils are provided with a vast array of wonderful learning experiences, teaching methods, practical lessons, IT apps, websites, cross curricular links, SEAG preparation, SEN support systems as well as many outdoor and indoor lessons for Mathematics & Numeracy.

From counting on fingers, nursery rhymes, stories and ‘Thinking through Play’ to using counters, number cards, lines, games, puzzles, arrays and squares to using measuring tapes, clocks, dice, coins, ‘Five Minute Boxes’, Numicon, Dynamo Maths, Corbett Maths, The Anton app, our Heinemann and New Wave schemes, Times Tables Rockstars, C2K programs, Just2Easy app, EA activities, Live Lessons, Mathletics and STEM challenges to name but a few, we at St. Mary’s strive to provide our pupils with a range of multi-sensory, interactive Maths & Numeracy resources. A big thank you to all our amazing classroom assistants and teachers who continue to put Maths & Numeracy at the forefront of learning within our school.

Parents, it is important that you continue to reinforce the learning that is happening in school by helping your child to develop the relevant Maths topic language, practical, mental, written strategies and experiences at home. Whether it is for Number, Shape & Space, Handling Data, Measures or Problem-Solving, your partnership and positive attitude to Maths with your child is invaluable! Information on how to support or challenge your child can be found in the many printable booklets and videos within Mathletics, in ‘Curriculum’ or ‘Links’ on the school website and in the many photos and suggestions below.๐ŸŒŸ
