Accelerated Reader

30th Jan 2021

Our P4.P5, P6 and P7 boys and girls have been very busy during this period of school closure reading at home. Overall, our records show that our P4-7 pupils have read 4,199,864 words from 323 books during the month of January. I think you will agree that this is a very impressive and a truly staggering number. We know that P5's have broken through the 1 million barrier and P7 have almost toppled 2 million words read. They have been very busy since the start of January.

We are also aware that there a number of pupils close to becoming Accelerated Reader Millionaire readers since the start if this school year in September. Hopefully we will get certificates issued to them as soon as they reach this milestone.

During this month of February your child's class teacher will be in touch with you all about ambitious targets we have set for each P5-7 class for reading for this month. I have no doubt you will achieve these!

During this month of January we have sent home over 1000 reading books across all year groups  It is therefore essential that any borrowed books are returned to school so that we are able to lend them out again after quarantine. We'd, therefore, really appreciate any school books that are at home, not being used to be returned with your child's class packs asap.
